Location of Trans Himalaya – lies in north of Himalaya, They formed before Himalayas.

Note: Trans Himalaya is not part of Himalayas.

Karakoram Range

1. Also known as Backbone of Asia
2. It’s Highest peak K2 Godwin Austin ( in Hindi language गौरी नंदा)
3. K2 Godwin Austin India highest peak including disputed area Pok.
4. Glaciers also seen here – Hisper Glacier, Biafo Glacier, Baltoro, Batura & Siachin Glacier.
5. Aksai chin also lies here.
6. Niubra river originate from Siachin Glacier
7. Indian Army started Operation Meghdoot to occupy Siachin from Pakistan.

Ladakh Range

1. It’s Highest peak mt. Rekaposhi.
2. Mt. Rekaposhi is the steepest peak in the world.
3. It’s branch in Tibbet is Kailash Range.

Zaskar Range

1. Expansion in India + Tibbet.
2. It’s Highest peak mt. kamet.
